    Dr. Diederik Jekel

    Diederik explains Beta Sciences in an accessible way on radio, television, internet and in his book. Diederik obtained his master's degree in solid state physics in 2010 and then did research very briefly at the University of Twente. In October 2010 he had the opportunity to talk about science in De Wereld Draait Door and since then he has been a full-time science journalist. He gives presentations on science and communication to children, adults, industrialists, scientists and managers. Coming from academia and now working in the media industry, he has a good perspective on what both worlds want. His mission is to inspires people.

  • Dr. Stacey Jeffery

    Dr. Stacey Jeffery

    Stacey is senior Researcher at CWI since January 2017, her main areas of interest are quantum algorithms and cryptographic protocols, and models of quantum computation. Before that, she was an IQIM Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter (IQIM) at Caltech. With Julia Cramer she co-founded WIQD (Women in Quantum Development), a professional network for women in all areas of quantum technology.

  • Professor Somaya Ben Allouch

    Professor Somaya Ben Allouch

    University of Amsterdam

    Somaya is professor in ‘Human-System Interaction for Health and Wellbeing’ at the Faculty of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in January 2021. The chair has been established by the Beta Plus Foundation. She has been leading the Digital Life Center research group since October 2018. Somaya is member of the editorial board of the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments and guest editor for magazines such as the Journal of Social Robotics and the Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks.
